"The Galaxy Wanderer"
This series is based on photographs taken in Texas caves. Without lights on, the caves are pitch black, the kind of pure darkness that leads to light deprivation and eventual blindness. But when lit, millenia-old stalactites, stalagmites and crystals can be seen. The caves seemed like an alien intergalactic landscape and I was an interplanetary traveler, seeing a world for the first time. These works are an homage to the act of inverting darkness into light, earth-travel and space exploration as a state of mind, and the beauty of vision.
